4th Generation Angler
Capt. Joey Spaulding
I've been immersed in the world of fishing since I was a kid. Growing up in the heart of the Florida Keys, fishing was more than just a hobby; it was a way of life. My family's deep-rooted connection to the sea stretches back generations. My grandfather, Vincent Spaulding, was a true pioneer, even inventing the motorized fishing reel.
I inherited the LegaSea from my uncle. This boat, the original #1 hull of its kind, has been in our family since 1966. It's seen countless fishing adventures, including a notable appearance in the movie "Blood and Wine" starring Jack Nicholson.
I've had the privilege of fishing alongside some of the best in the business, learning invaluable lessons about the ocean and life along the way. From catching a 130-pound sailfish at the age of six to countless hours spent on the water, my passion for fishing has only grown over the years.
My brothers and I are carrying on the family tradition, sharing our love of fishing with others. The next generation is already making waves, eager to explore the ocean and continue our LegaSea.
