Islamorada Offshore Fishing
Our Islamorada offshore fishing charters offer diverse opportunities to target a wide range of species, from pelagic giants like marlin and tuna to reef dwellers like snapper and grouper. Anglers can expect to employ various techniques such as trolling, jigging, and live baiting, often targeting specific underwater structures or following schools of baitfish. The best time to fish depends on the target species, with peak seasons for different fish throughout the year.
Please note: We stick to the reefs on our four-hour trips to minimize the run time and maximize the fun time fishing!
Target Species
Spring & Summertime Deepwater
During the warmer months, we’re running 25-30 miles offshore to the Gulf Stream looking for mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, and the elusive marlin. In the early spring we may hook a bluefin tuna as they head to the gulf to spawn but this is super rare and a special treat.
Wintertime Reef Edges
During the cooler months, the Gulf Stream pushes in closer to the reef edges, bringing with it epic fishing closer to shore. This time of year we’re only running 5-6 miles out where everything is feeding off the reef. We’re targeting sailfish, kingfish, wahoo, tuna, African pompano, snapper, and grouper.
Year-Round Four-Hour Trips
We’re typically running out to the reefs to target snapper and grouper. This minimizes our run time and maximizes our fishing time.
Where We Fish
We fish a mix of offshore locations around Islamorada from the edges of the reefs all the way out to the humps and the deeper ledges of the Atlantic. Where we fish all depends on the season and where the Gulf Stream is flowing. We’re looking for weedlines, debris, and action while we’re trolling offshore. When we’re fishing closer to shore we have dozens of productive spots on the reefs and wrecks around Islamorada.
We use a mix of live bait tactics and regularly switch it up to find the best fishing conditions.
